Dr. Lalit Sharma is a leading Orthopaedician and full-time spine surgeon from Jaipur, Rajasthan with immense expertise in the field of spine surgery.
He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from S P Medical College in Bikaner (1998) which is affiliated with the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has also accomplished a Master of Surgery (MS) in Orthopaedics from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in the year 2003. He has approximately 5 years Post PG work experience in the spine unit at AIIMS as Senior Resident and Senior Research Fellow, during which Dr. Sharma gained experience in all subspecialties of Orthopaedics (Trauma, Adult Reconstruction, Spine, Arthroscopy and sports medicine, Hand and microvascular reconstruction, Orthopaedic oncology). He performed various surgeries under supervision and assisted with complicated surgeries. He also gained experience in the management of orthopaedic emergencies.
He served as Senior Resident at Department of Orthopaedics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for gaining further specialization in Spine Surgery super-specialty. He got an opportunity to perform complex spine surgeries along with routine orthopaedics. Dr. Sharma also gained rich experience in the management of congenital and acquired spinal deformities like scoliosis and kyphosis, management of degenerative spinal disorders, spinal tumours, trauma, and infections. He was also involved in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates.
Dr. Sharma attained vast experience in clinical research, along with clinical expertise during his tenure as Senior Research Associate (Indian Council of Medical Research) at the Department of Orthopaedics at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
He holds Clinical Fellowship in Spine Surgery from National University Hospital, Singapore where he attained experience in advanced aspects of spine surgery like Navigation Assisted Spinal Instrumentation and Thoracoscopic Spine Surgery. He also holds Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) Travelling Spine Fellowship (to South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan).
Dr. Sharma is presently associated as Consultant Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals, Jaipur. Previously he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Orthopaedics of S M S Medical College and Hospitals, Jaipur. He was Empanelled Consultant, Orthopaedics and Spine Surgery, at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur.
Dr. Lalit Sharma is actively involved in research and publications. He has presented numerous papers and posters to International and National Societies and published more than 20 articles in leading Orthopaedics Journals.
